16 Blocks (2006)

16 Blocks

A fat, old police man has to escort a felon to the court house, 16 streets away from the police station.

This simple and quiet start only makes us suspect that it won’t be long until the series of violent scenes.

This way, we can enjoy 15 minutes of calm and then there goes the shooting! Shortly after we discover that another police man, old colleague of the protagonist, is very interested in killing the suspect, as his statement will take behind bars several police officers involved in illegal activities.

From then on, we are spectators of a cat and mouse race and tense confrontations in enclosed spaces (flats, buses).

Overall….an interesting and thrilling film for its time….
