Based on ‘Babylon Babies’ novel, written by Maurice Georges Dantec, the movie ‘Babylon A.D.’ is a science-fiction thriller. The main character is the mercenary Toorop.

He is assigned a mission which he initially considers as being routine, but that proves to be much more complicated and vital for the survival of the human race.

Toorop has to escort outside Russia a young woman called Aurora. Toorop is accompanied by a nun called Rebecca, who was assigned the mission of protecting the girl with the price of her own life.

Gradually, Toorop realizes that this mission will be very difficult to accomplish because Aurora is haunted by many organizations. Later, Toorop finds out that Aurora was artificially inseminated by a religious sect with a virus and now she’s carrying a mutant embryo. This creature has the potential of becoming the next Messiah, genetically modified. This could lead to the disappearance of the entire human race.
