Miracle at St. Anna

Based on the novel of the American writer James McBride, the movie ‘Miracle at St. Anna’ is a war drama, whose action takes place in Italy in 1944, during Second World War.

Four black American soldiers positioned in Toscana, Italy, experience both the defeat and the victory of the war.

They risk their lives fighting for a native country, whose people treat them with less respect than their own enemies.

They discover what it means to be a human being, to be warm and hospitable in a small village in Toscana, called St. Anna di Stazzema. The inhabitants of this village offer them shelter and consolation.

One of them turns into a hero when he saves a little deaf Italian boy from dieing.
