This could become a classic. A Guy Ritchie classic. It’s that period of year when usually nothing spectacular comes out.
“RocknRolla” has a great cast that includes Thandie Newton, Jeremy Piven and Ludacris. But the name everybody expected a performance from, is, of course, the Scottish actor Gerard Butler. Seen by many as the next Sean Connery, Butler plays the role of a tough guy alongside Idris Elba.
The dialogues are extraordinary, accompanied by the excellent British humor. The story is shaped around several characters. A real estate scam is orchestrated by a Russian mobster who makes several millions pounds. But the London’s criminal underworld is also interested on the big jackpot. The plot is rather complicated, but the film becomes more and more interested as the relationships between the protagonists evolves.
