Sometime at the end of the 21st century failed biological tests lead to a world wide holocaust and there are quite few people left on earth.
The virus that they created was supposed to transform normal people into super soldiers; instead, they gave birth to some creatures very similar to vampires, a subspecies that had quite powerful psychic capacities.
In the midst of the paranoia of getting infected or killed, Violet is a vampire woman willing to fight, regardless of the costs, for the survival of her species.
Milla Jovovich puts away her characteristic cosmetics advertising videos and steps into the world of cinema, in the role of Violet.
Posing as the defender of all those of the same species as her, she spends her time beating up those who stand in her way, while protecting a young boy who might be carrying in his blood the antidote against the virus.
