Australia (2008)

When talking about ‘Australia’, we talk about Baz Luhrman’s most recent work. He went back on the director’s chair after the huge success of ‘Moulin Rouge’ in 2001, where he also cast Nicole Kidman in the main role.

This time she is accompanied by Hugh Jackman, and they will live their story in the Northern region of Australia, some time after

the Second World War.

‘Australia’ tells the story of an English aristocrat (Nicole Kidman) who inherits a farm in Australia, the size of Maryland.

Soon after, a group of English barons try to take over her lands and she unites her forces with a young man’s (Hugh Jackman), who must help her transport all the 2,000 head of cattle across the most dangerous Australian territory, all the way to Darwin, a city assaulted by Japanese forces.

The movie had a 120 million dollars budget and we are all looking forward to seeing whether it will pay off.

Release Date: 26 November 2008

Genre: Adventure, Drama, War, Western
