The Tale of Despereaux (2008)

Tiny and gifted with a pair of ears far bigger than most other mice, Despereaux (voice of Matthew Broderick) is a little creature too curious to be able to keep himself from exploring beyond his castle dungeon world.

He refuses to live in fear, so he befriends Princess Pea (voice of Emma Watson), and

she teaches him to read the book instead of eating them. She passes onto him her fascination for stories of knights, dragons and beautiful princesses.

Exiled from the world of mice, as he was considered to be more of a human than of a mouse, Despereaux sees himself on the streets alone, and he gets help form Roscuro (voice of Dustin Hoffman), an outlaw rat.

Roscuro also becomes interested in Princess Pea, but when she rejects his friendship, he and his friend Mig (voice of Tracey Ullman) decide to take revenge.

They kidnap Princess Pea and Despereaux knows he is the only one capable of saving her and that even the tiniest mouse can be as brave as the most courageous knight in shining armour.
