Across the Universe (2007)
Across the Universe (2007)

“Across the Universe” is a musical directed by Julie Taymor, based on a fictitious love story.

Sometime in the sixties, in the middle of anti-war protests, of the fight for freedom of speech and civil rights, for mind exploring and rock’n roll, people did not stop falling in love.

Even from the beginning, we see different backgrounds for the stories, starting with high schools and going to universities in Massachussets, Princeton, Ohio.

Then we move all the way to Manhattan, or to Detroit, or in the middle of the Vietnam conflicts or on the Liverpool docks.

The film combines successfully real life scenes with animated ones, having as soundtracks many of the classic Beatles songs famous in that time.

Genre: Adventure, Drama, Musical, Romance

Cast: Evan Rachel Wood, Jim Sturgess, Max Carrigan, Joe Anderson, Dana Fuchs, Martin Luther, T.V. Carpio, Salma Hayek, Bono
