Waltz with Bashir (2008) 

The animated documentary ‘Waltz with Bashir’ is the story of the director, Ari Folman.

One night at a bar, an old friend tells director Ari, about a nightmare that he has repeatedly, in which he is chased by 26 ferocious dogs. Every night the same nightmare with the same number of dogs.

Ari and his friend realize  that there is a connection between the nightmare and their Israeli Army mission in the first Lebanon War in the 80s.

That night the director Ari has a vision that reminds him of the masacre in Beirut. But nothing is real. This terrible mission caused Folman a memory loss.

Images long forgotten start to reappear as the director decides to talk to some old friends and comrades. Ari needs to discover the truth about that period and about himself.
