A charming man gets to his 40th year of life without ever having had sex.
His work colleagues do their best to prevent him from going any further without having sex and they send him in a very special journey, whose only goal was the loss of his virginity.
Unfortunately for them, Andy doesn’t want only sex, he wants to find true love and happiness; this trip will help him get to know himself better and to get over his shyness.
Steve Carell, the leading actor, found his inspiration in one of the sketches he realized with his acting company “Second City”, in which he interpreted a 40 year old virgin.
Soon after, he found director Judd Apatow who liked the idea and decided to put it on film.
