“Adaptation” is the story of a writer who is suffering from an acute loss of inspiration.
The leading role is played by Nicolas Cage, as well as the role of the writer’s twin brother. Since the loss of inspiration seems to go on for more time than expected, the twin brother is asked to step in.
His task is to adapt a book written by Susan Orlean, “The Orchid Thief”, in a movie script. The book tells the story of John Laroche, an eccentric man who ‘collects’ exotic plants.
More problems come up when the twin cannot seem to be able to focus either, which means the script will not be ready in time, or not ready at all.
