Calendar Girls
The movie presents the story of Chris and Annie, two very good friends, both members of the Rylstone Institute, which deals with charitable acts.
After what Anne’s husband finds out that he has leukemia the women decide to do something to raise the money for him.
They realized that the best solution would be to … pose in a calendar … nude.
Being very convincing, they managed to make their friends to pose, too.
The director of the institute, Mary, did not agree with this idea, but she never thought that this could really be a success.
For a noble cause, they make sacrifices and, the person who comes with the idea justifies her acts with a touching speech.
“Calendar Girls” has that credible air that makes it likeable, but this is thanks to the actors like Helen Mirren and Julie Walters.
