In a very short period of time, Bertram Pincus realizes that he has become a messenger, without his own will, between the world of the living and the world of the dead.
Bertram’s mission is to bring people messages from those who have died and who still have unsolved business. This way, Bertram finds himself caught between those who have died and their families.
The protagonist is haunted especially by the ghost of the business man Frank Herlihy, who wants to convince Bertram to determine his wife not to get married again. This way Bertram finds himself caught in an un-natural love triangle.
