L’Auberge Espagnole is a hotel in Barcelona where the Erasmus students stay during their studies.
Xavier, an economics French student, in his late twenties, signs for an European exchange program in Barcelona. He wants to go to Spain in order to gain working knowledge of the Spanish language.
Before he leaves, he says farewell to his loving girlfriend and promises to keep in touch.
As soon as he arrives in Barcelona, Xavier gets into a cultural melting pot. He moves into an apartment full of international students.
Xavier now lives with an Italian, a boy from Denmark, an English girl, a German, a young woman from Belgium and a girl from Andalusia. They all become friends and together go through a series of adventures that initiate them for the live ahead of them.
