Our protagonist, fresh journalism graduate, has a promising start by getting an important job. She has to track down a rather mysterious surfer, named the Monk, in Hawaii.
While her job requires many skills such as great personality and accurate instincts, she has bigger problems. The Monk does not want to be found and the locals aren’t helping her very much.
To make things more interesting, her over-attached boyfriend visits her uninvited and the person she has to report to, is falling in love with her. Unfortunately, he’s quite a geek.
And then, there’s the small matter of being wanted by the FBI.
