Synecdoche, New York (2008) 

‘Synecdoche, New York’ is a drama that focuses around Caden Cotard, the director if a small theater company, that wins the Mac Arthur award together with a consistent quantity of money. With the money, Caden Cotard decides to mount a new play.

An honest masterpiece, brutally realistic and with a very numerous cast. The play is played for 17 years in a huge abandoned barn in Manhattan. The plot of the play tells the story of Cotard’s daily life.

After his wife, Adele Lack together with their daughter Olive, leave him, Caden has an affair with a woman named Hazel.

Caden Cotard marries the second time with Claire Keen. As time passes ad his play continues, Cotard has more and more personal problems and starts losing contact with reality.
