The quiet all American town of New Salem is shaken with terror when a mysterious serial killer starts kidnapping young girls and torturing them sadistically after killing them.

One night, while she is out in town with a group of friends, Aubrey Fleming (young, talented pianist and writer) disappears without a trace; two weeks later, a girl that looks identically like her is found by a driver on the side of the road with severe injuries.

After she wakes up at the hospital, the girl amazes everyone, including her parents, when she claims her name is Dakota Moss and that she has never met Aubrey Fleming.

After investigating, the FBI discovered that Aubrey had written a story whose main character was named Dakota Moss. On the other side, Dakota does some investigating of her own and finds out that Aubrey is actually her twin and they have a very strong mental connection……will that help them in any way?
