Based on the true story, the film shows us Robert Kearns, university Professor and a free-time inventor, who led a long and difficult fight against the automobile industry.
He paid a great price for the recognition of his invention; he refuses to keep quiet and confronts the titans of the automobile corporations despite the fact that nobody believed he could actually win.
The Kearns were a typical Detroit family who lived their version of the American dream in the 1960s; Bob married Phyllis and had three beautiful children and a happy life.
Bob invented a device that was later installed on all cars made in America, and they thought they would make a fortune.
Unfortunately for them, the big car producers pushed him aside without paying him; they first ignored his objections and then they threatened him.
He did not give up and continued with his legal battle, he sacrificed years of his and his family’s life, but he finally made it – he defeated the Goliath of the car industry and made his point.
