K-19: The Widowmaker

The action of the movie takes place in 1961, during the Cold War. Captain Alexei Vostrikov, is an officer in the Russian marine, who is in charge of the nuclear submarine, K-19.

The ex-comandant of the submarine, captain Mikhail Polenin, has been degraded to the function of executive officer.

Polenin fears for the security of the submarine, because there are some parts of the equipment missing and some other parts haven’t been installed properly.

Vostrikov is ordered to go in the North Atlantic to test the rocket launchers. The test proves to be successful, but something happens with the submarine and the ship is about to explode.
