I Am Legend
As a consequence of a deadly plague caused by some failed experiments with a man-made virus, scientist Robert Neville is the only human survivor in New York.
Neville was the one who lead the investigation meant to stop the plague, but he could not save his family and maybe the rest of the human kind.
He spends years sending radio messages to possible survivors and although he does not receive any message, he knows he is not alone; the infested victims who did not die transformed into nocturnal blood-thirsty mutants. Neville is totally convinced that he is the one who has to find the antidote.
Will Smith continues on the same line marked in “I, Robot” and “Independence Day”, hence he is again in the role of a man confronted with a life or death situation and who is called out to be a hero.
