Inspired by a true story, “Madison” is a drama about a father-son relationship, located in the competitive season hydroplanes in 1971.
Jim McCormick has abandoned the life of a hydroplane pilot to settle down, he found a family and got a job as a debugger for air conditioning systems.
Although trying to embrace his new life, he still craves for racing, but his abandoned hydroplane became the target of the people’s ironies.
Meanwhile, the city has experienced harsh financial difficulties and the fight right now is among the big sponsors who represent the rivals that compete against Jim.
Madison city is suddenly asked to host the prestigious Gold Cup championship and Jim could not resist to lose the chance of being back in competition, although his fellows are not at all part of it.
He tries to get community support in an attempt to play city pride, although his wife, Bonnie is eager to move somewhere far from Madison’s melancholy, and his son, Mike, is disappointed to see how rich competitors win every time.
But Jim is stubborn and doesn’t give up, he is decided to take on competition with the big names.
