The Magdalene Sisters

‘The Magdalene Sisters’ is a challenging drama about the abuses and the physical and mental tortures suffered in the Magdalene Sisters Asylum in Ireland.

Four young women (Bernadette, Rose, Margaret and Crispina) are sent by their families to this institution, ruled by nuns, in order to expiate their supposed sins. Here they suffer terrible tortures and abuses for the sins they committed.

Crispina and Rose had children without being married, Margaret was raped by her own cousin and the orphan Bernadette was caught flirting with boys.

At the asylum, they are terribly punished for their sins and they have to suffer very cruel treatments. The superior mother, forces the four women to do infinite tasks and applies on them a sadist correction treatment.
