The Quiet American

The action of the movie ‘The Quiet American’ takes place in Saigon, in 1952.

Thomas Fowler is a British journalist who writes for the London Times about the war in Vietnam.

In Vietnam, Fowler spends most of his time with a beautiful Vietnamese woman, named Phuong. Here, in Vietnam, Fowler befriends Alden Pyle, an American who has come to Saigon with a medical crew.

Alden meets the beautiful Phuong and falls in love with her. Phuong rejects him. Fowler finds out that Alden is actually a CIA agent, who wants to organize an attack against the Ho Chi Min forces. Fowler tries to stop him.
