Rachel Getting Married (2008)

Despite her young age, Kym (Anne Hathaway) has gone through many personal crisis, family conflicts and rehab treatments.

Her sister Rachel’s wedding seems like the perfect opportunity to go back home and set things straight.
However, plans don’t always transform into reality and the situation will get a bit more complicated than Kym expected.

The film is a drama about pain and truth, but at the same time it is full of sarcasm and humour. The director, Jonathan Demme, exploits the peaceful potential of a family event that is supposed to be a reason of joy. Instead, it brings under the same roof the members of a family, along with their conflicts and irreconcilable differences.

Kym goes back home, a home from which she ran away years before; she sees that as some kind of therapy session that will help her move on with her life, and for that she has to face two of the most important people in her life: Abby (Debra Winger) and Rachel ( Rosemarie DeWitt).

Amongst the male characters, the outstanding are Kieran (Mather Zickel) and Paul (Bill Irwin).
