The time of action of the movie ‘The Rain’ is 1972. Janey (13 years old) and her parents decide to spend another seaside holiday at their beach house.
Janey’s parents try to ignore their distant marriage by drinking and enjoying their vacation. In the mean time, Jamie and her little brother, spend their days by playing by the ocean.
Janey’s mother, Kate, lays eyes on a photographer, who becomes her main attraction. Angered by her mother’s infidelity, Janey starts discovering the power of her own sexuality. The whole thing turns into a quiet war between mother and daughter.
