The Women (2008)
The Women (2008)

The movie follows the evolution of a close-knit group of female friends who, when their romantic relationships fall apart turn to each other for moral support but come to question each other’s friendship and devotion.

The starting point of this process of dissolution and rebirth is Sylvie Fowler’s ending marriage. Sylvie, the editor at a very important fashion magazine and fashion guru, finds out that her husband is cheating on her with Crystal, a beautiful and seductive perfume salesgirl.

Sylvia’s romantic crisis puts strain on her friendship with Mary Haines, also a very successful woman, married with a wealthy man and mother of an 11-years-old daughter. Little by little, the entire group of female friends is involved in a process of self-questioning and ultimately self-discovery.
