David and Amy decide to go on one last trip together, before getting a divorce.
Unfortunately for them, their car breaks down and they are forced to spend the night in a motel. There they find Mason, the motel owner, who seems to be much more interested in watching horror movies than in helping them fix their car.
The couple get settled in a dark, dirty room and they find some tapes which were apparently filmed in that exact room and which show some quite realistic murders. Soon enough, they realize they might be the next victims if they do not work together in order to escape.
The script of the film was basically inspired by those highway motels which always seem to be hiding terrible secrets and seem to have been the setting for terrible and violent events.
