La Boheme (2008)
La Boheme

La Boheme

The opera “La Bohème” is based on the tragic love story of Mimí and Rodolfo, and it is set in Paris during the 1830s.

Puccini’s most expressive opera shows us the true face of the life of bohemian Parisian artists who enjoyed a very relaxed life and only worked enough to pay for their dinner.

Hungry but cheerful, Rodolfo, the poet, shares a tiny dirty room with Marcello, the painter, and two other friends.

On Christmas Eve, fragile Mimi shows up at their door and Rodolfo falls madly in love with her.

In the meanwhile, Marcello is in a relationship with Musetta, who is more preoccupied with flirting than with the artist standing next to her.

Things between Rodolfo and Mimi go fine for a while, but he is extremely jealous and they finally break up; unfortunately, he does not know she is about to die and they only get a few moments of love before death separates them forever.
